Philanthropic Investments

  • Student Aid — Supporting Mizzou students through scholarships and fellowships.
  • Faculty Excellence — Endowing or helping to endow a distinguished professorship or chair.
  • Facilities Renewal — Providing and maintaining state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.

Matching Gifts

As a benefit to employees, companies can increase the impact of their employees' gifts to Mizzou or other qualifying institutions by matching employees’ contributions. Most corporations provide a one-to-one match, while others elect to provide a greater matching amount to further encourage and leverage their employees’ philanthropy.

Hundreds of companies participate in employee matching-gift programs at Mizzou. Companies with these programs raised more than $636,000 in 2004-05.

Research Collaboration

The University of Missouri-Columbia is the largest public Research I institution in Missouri, and cutting-edge research is conducted in a variety of fields. Collaboration with business and industry provides benefits to students, faculty and corporate staff. Visit MU's Office of Research to learn more about several current research ventures and sponsored research projects at MU.

Technology Transfer

MU's Office of Intellectual Property Administration works to identify, evaluate and facilitate the transfer of MU inventions to the private sector, which benefits the public, the community and the University.

Recruiting

The MU Career Center — in addition to career services in several individual schools and colleges — matches employers with students and alumni through an array of recruitment services, including on-campus recruitment, job postings and resume referrals. Rooms are available for on-campus interviewing, and students may be scheduled for interviews through either employer pre-selection or open sign-up.
