For more than 50 years, the College of Veterinary Medicine has built a reputation for educating outstanding veterinarians, providing top-notch veterinary medical care and initiating novel research into disease processes. Consider these everyday accomplishments:
- Advanced treatment saves a beloved pet with cancer while providing insight into fighting the disease in humans;
- A new gene therapy technique improves the sight of dogs born blind and may someday help infants with similar retinal diseases;
- Scientists monitor the threat of West Nile Virus to protect animals and people.
The college is also known for a quality just as valuable yet more intangible: an esprit de corps and unwavering commitment to animals.
