College of Veterinary Medicine

For more than 50 years, the College of Veterinary Medicine has built a reputation for educating outstanding veterinarians, providing top-notch veterinary medical care and initiating novel research into disease processes. Consider these everyday accomplishments:

  • Advanced treatment saves a beloved pet with cancer while providing insight into fighting the disease in humans;
  • A new gene therapy technique improves the sight of dogs born blind and may someday help infants with similar retinal diseases;
  • Scientists monitor the threat of West Nile Virus to protect animals and people.

The college is also known for a quality just as valuable yet more intangible: an esprit de corps and unwavering commitment to animals. Veterinarians and students alike routinely go above and beyond the call of duty to save animals, incorporating excellent clinical treatment with compassionate concern.

As part of the For All We Call Mizzou campaign, the college has embarked on an effort to further distinguish itself. We invite you to join the college on its journey of teaching, healing and discovery by supporting one or more of the programs listed.
